This great series is a must for anyone interested in the Civil War. It is beautifully written with a cast you will come to love. The story of two families, divided by events outwith their control is true of so many families of the time who were 'by the sword divided'. Although made in 1983/4 it is very watchable. I highly recommend it.
The King's good servant but God's first
I loved this series the first time around and searched for years until I located the DVDs, which so far are available only in the British format. I hope they're more widely available soon. I'm blessed to have an all-format DVD player, so I've been enjoying By the Sword Divided. My partner is studying Milton at the moment, so I introduced the series to her; she has been riveted by the compelling story and marvelous performances.

What you meant to say is, they are Region 2 PAL - but - that is not an issue in the U.S. as cheap $30 players can easily be converted to multi-region/region-free by simply looking up the proper codes on the 'web to enter via the remote control. A half-hour's search (or less) will let anybody watch these anywhere.
Fully support pet shops, and vote "no" to homosexual marriage.
You must be a real peach, if you think puppy mills are acceptable. Then again, someone who had to slip in some snarky reply to a seven year-old message must not have much of a life.
