Similarities to 'Toy Story 3'

The plot of this movie reminds me a great deal of that of "Toy Story 3." Basic synopsis is of a boy who loves his "toys" (or appliances, in this case) - then grows up and moves away, only to realize that he misses them, and that they are still needed in some way. Plus, there is a similar scene of near destruction during the junk yard/magnetic crane sequence. Both are great movies...and Disney movies to boot - so these similarities are not a big deal. However, I believe that they are worth mentioning to any Disney fan. I guess, at this point, I'm just wondering if I am the only one who has noticed them. Did anyone else think this??
