I heard a real U.S.-born Mexican descendent was deported to Mexico, a story used by the writers of this movie. Any truth to that?

Based on the shear number of people deported from the U.S. daily, it would be next to impossible for it NOT to be true.

In the 30's, during the Depression, many were unfairly deported.
