Excellent acting by Lou Albano

I mean, it was a bit of a stretch for Captain Lou Albano having to play arrogant wrestling manager Captain Lou Murano, but he pulled it off. He really got robbed at that year's Emmy nominations. Lou Albano, often imitated, never duplicated.

I wonder who he based his character on?

Yeah I personally wondered what his motivation was for the part. It was most likely the paycheck, but at the same time I thought it might have been something so much more.

His performance certainly was of the caliber that it could actually transcend the Oscars and in an unprecedented move receive an Emmy for a motion picture performance, of that I must agree. He obviously deserved praise in every forum imaginable.

I think only one word can describe "Captain Lou's" performance, and the phenomenon that we so casually refer to as "Body Slam", and that word is MAGIC.

Yes it was great to watch him because he was great in action all right including in this film Body Slam!

Yeah that makes me wonder the same as well because back in the 80's you had a ton of colorful wrestling managers on back then The WWF that he could have emulated to get his character right.

My thoughts EXACTLY! Captain Lou Murano was a very complex character to pull off so brilliantly. Lou Albano definatley needs his props for being such a method actor.

Captain Lou did a fantastic job in this cult classic of a film. When I saw it in ON DEMAND on Comcast as a free movie to watch. I just had to watch it because it had been years since I have seen this movie on TV. I remember back when this aired on HBO or Cinemax in the late 80's. Then I use to see this on USA Network and USA UP ALL NIGHT back when they would show films like this. Especially on a day like today.

I do not think there will ever be another manager like Captain Lou Albano. He was great for professional wrestling especially when him and Cindi Lauper went at it. That is what really got attention for wrestling back in the mid 80's. He did a fantastic job playing the bad guy in Body Slam!
