Using The Referee

In the final fight between Dux and Chong Le, both fighters use the referee as a prop in order to gain an advantage.

Was this actually allowed? It seems pretty far-fetched.

Well, Chong Li uses him as a weapon and distraction tactic. Dux tries to move him out of harm's way, but leaps over him when the opportunity presents itself. And in all fairness, he helps him back up. Nice guy!

What the hell was the referee doing on the stage with them AT ALL? I did not see him on the stage for the other fights. In boxing or kickboxing you need a ref but this is basically a street fight there are almost no rules anyway (though the poison pill that blinded Dux was DEFINITELY cheating and I do not know why the ref failed to see that and disqualify Chong Li what a lousy referee.

Was there not enough room for him to avoid the fighters? In boxing and kickboxing the referee is trained to avoid the fighters, you have to be in pretty good shape just to be a ref. You have to move around fast to avoid the fighters and not accidentally get hit! This guy failed miserably in that area.
