shareI only remember hearing them sisnce I got the DVD, but I know EXACTLY what you are alsong about. They seem to happen on cue about every 2 minutes during the fight scenes.

shareI've seen this movie over 1000 times and have grown up with cats my entire life but NEVER thought that screeching noise was a cat meow... even my girlfriend pointed that out to me and said "WTF, why are there cat meows in the background?" when she watched it for the first time a little over a month ago. BUT I've always maintained (as I still do now) that it's just someone whistling in the crowd/audience.
shareI think the same thing when I watch. Makes me think of my cat growing up and watching this movie all those years.
shareWhat kind of cat do you have? That's so high pitched, I have no idea how you'd think that was a cat. Maybe if its tail was in a blender but dear god, if my cat sounded like that I'd have introduced myself to a shotgun.
