i just watched this movie, and i dont get why people like it. Am i missing something? I mean its 45 minutes long (!?), and it's also a ripoff of Terminator 1, even the robot walks slow to make a dramatic effect like in Terminator. Sarah Connor is the grandaughter, and the reporter is the guy from the future protecting her.

I'm sorry I just don't get it. On the bright side the animation and everything technical is great of course. But that's that. No plot, no nothing.

i'm assuming you do not realize this short animated film was an adaptation of a japanese manga, created by the legendary author who brought us Ghost In The Shell and Appleseed.
Oh, and the manga black magic m66, it came out in 1983, coincidentally a year before Terminator 1 came out. factor in the amount of time it averagely take for an American movie to be made back in the 80's....who copied whom, i wonder...

Not everything has to be a 3 hour arthouse wank-fest. Sometimes 45 minutes of clearly presented action fills the empty hours between now and death.
