missing hospital scene

does anybody know of a dvd release with the missing scene.
I originally had it on pal video and it was included. every dvd i have bought is missing it.
I feel that this makes the film disjointed and cannot watch it.

i know! why did they edit the last scene. i cant find the full version either!

This is one of my favourite films, I must have seen it 15-20 times and can't recall a hospital scene.

What happens in that scene?

Are you talking about the scene when they are at the hospital after the brother has been shot and Remy confronts Jack on the swing? His mother comes outside yelling to tell them Bobby's going to be all right and Ned Beatty runs away. I saw this movie when it originally came out, purchased it when first released on VHS and have seen it many, many times on TV and that's the only hospital scene I can recall ever seeing, and it's always included whenever aired.

I don't know, but if there is a version which includes additional scenes, I would love to have it!

klutzinpink,

Nope, not that scene. The scene that comes just before the end credits creep up the screen / roll.
The scene where Remy proposes matrimony to Anne.
The scene that was deleted just after the one where the couple run like heck, from the exploding boat, at the dock!

The more Ken Loach films I see, the more I think they need English subtitles.

Was it in theatrical release? It's weird, I saw that scene on television and it came as a surprise as I'd seen the movie several times on vhs. Yeah, a long time ago . . .

Same thing with Valmont, theatrical had a couple of scenes that are not in the dvd or the later vhs but were in the theater and the earliest vhs. Doesn't make sense that the dvd would be shorter.

Nope, not in the US theatrically-released version of the film. I saw this movie TEN times when it first came out, so taken was I by DQ (Dennis, Dennis, Dennis!) -- I think the deleted scene adds a lot to the film. Helps ease the HARSH segue from the dock explosion to the after-wedding waltz.
(Amazing what directors think doesn't need elucidating or filling in, isn't it? I mean, not that I didn't get that the characters HAD gotten married, but still ... I thought the deleted scene added a lot to the plot and was a cute turn on what had gone earlier)

I have seen this movie many, many times but have never seen this scene, why would they take out such a good scene?
