It is funny how the term "short sighted" is used in the courtroom scene and also on many threads here on IMDB. The proper term always used for myopia is "Near Sighted". Ironically Steve Guttenberg's character is "short sighted" by not thinking ahead with all his lies, which is the true meaning of short sighted.

One thing that always irked me about this movie was the whole "take out your lenses" scne. As someone wit terrible eye sight, even if I was sound asleep and heard a noise, before rushing to the window I would put on my glasses which are always by my bed and putting them on is as automatic as breathing. I would be unable to find the floor without them.
And the whole plot hinges on that scene. Should have asked someone with bad eye-sight first.
