Thank god this never became a weekly series.

It just seems like the most bizarre idea ever. Oh, not the idea of a motel with mysterious supernatural goings on where people find redemption or damnation each week. No, that I can handle, and the idea isn't exactly new. But why make it the Bates Motel from Psycho? I can only think Universal were wanting to make use of the backlot and this is what they came up with.

Well, thankfully, this pilot was so bad that it was never picked up for a series run, and the insult to Psycho ended quick sharp.

I had mixed feelings about this but I'm kinda glad it didn't become a weekly series...At least we got Psycho IV after this failed.

I thought this was a very sweet movie and would have made a good series. Having Norman finally be able to do good for someone and what that person to be well and have the freedom Norman never would have was a good part of the story. I would not have liked to see a lot of supernatural things like ghosts featured in it, but the idea that something influenced people who stayed there was very interesting.
I do not understand why in the world Anthony Perkins did not like this movie. And when Bud Cort was nice enough to ask Perkins for advice, he really should have tried to give him some.
