Faye Dunaway: Great Performances

Faye Dunaway is brilliant in this movie.

Fearless.

Worth viewing for the scene of her picking corn in that overgrown vacant lot in that neighborhood in LA. of broken down hotels & 60's bars. Neon. Palm trees. Asphalt.

Also the lighting in the liquor stores.

This movie is actually a borderline masterpiece. Definitely the lighting director & cinematographer should have gotten Oscars, but a movie like this is way too esoteric for that.

This is a strange movie...but it's Bukowski...it's Barbet Schroeder...

It's not about brands.

I thought Faye Dunaway was amazing here, sort of the comeback that no one noticed.

I wasn't wild about the film as a whole - I found Rourke disappointing in his role, although he had effective moments. But Dunaway - an actress who runs hot and cold for me - does wonders with her part, transcending a somewhat underwritten character with one of her best performances.
