Man what the hell happened to Rourke?

From stud to beast Jesus....

I wasn't born yesterday, you know - I've seen movies.

You should probably elaborate more. He's still a great actor. Not as handsome as he once was(even as a straight man I can admit that) BUT...what point are you trying to make ?? I think mickey is great it's just that he gets the wrong scrips a lot of the time..

Well he is rough looking now, i hate to say that cause i like him in every role, even the lesser ones but he used to be sharp looking.

Well then what happened?? Maybe the guy didn't age well or something?

I agree with the original poster here. I cannot understand why Rourke got some lousy surgeries or made some bad choices for his face.
He's a good actor, but his facial structure is drastically different and boxing didn't do it.

reply

Its strange. He used to look like Bruce Willis, but now he looks a lot different.

reply

Ok I guess I have to be the one saying it since nobody else dares to, BAD PLASTIC SURGERY.
From wiki of p`s : In 2009, the actor told The Daily Mail that he had gone to "the wrong guy" for his surgery, and that his plastic surgeon had left his features "a mess."[

He took a break from acting and tried being a professional boxer. He wasn't very good and got his face bashed in the process. He had plastic surgery to repair the damage. His looks now are combination of unsuccessful plastic surgery and aging. FWIW, I don't think there are any pictures of his post boxing face.

I think he slightly exaggerated the boxing thing, had he not had work done prior to that?

Whatever happened he looks horrible now, just plain weird. Sorry if that seems harsh but I dont think he needed to go that far with the surgery. Clearly he is addicted to it and a lot of that will come from his own vanity and has nothing to do with whatever happened when he was boxing.

In terms of his acting career he only really works in over the top kind of roles like in Sin City and The Wrestler where he was portraying larger than life characters, apart from that he hasnt done anything too memorable but its hard to focus on his acting when he looks like that or is always wearing shades.

reply

It's rather baffling, but... he's human. It happens.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

I like what you said here, DracTarashV; sometimes you're just human. I read this deal months ago about his ex-wife, Debra Feuer, in which she thought Mickey Rourke was like a child, just looking for approval, and not tough at all. I can see that a bit, I think.
