Frankie's Hair

It's obviously a wig, and they even jab him about it by calling him "helmet hair." I'm not sure if he's totally bald, but he's apparently been wearing hairpieces for decades. There's nothing wrong with being bald, and there's nothing wrong with wearing a hairpiece -- but if you're a celebrity, people will talk about both.

The "hair helmet" remarks aren't meant to imply that he wears a wig - but rather, the fact that his hair never moved, then or now! In the original movies, he'd be surfing, but his hair was rock solid. Lots of jokes about that. In the end, the kid says "I decided the hair helmet was the look for me" and copies Frankie's 'do.

Jez... it's a rug.. obviously.......

I've seen Frankie several times in concert and up close after the show and recently at the Hollywood collectors show. That's his hair and not a wig IMO. "hair helmet" in the dialogue referred to the style not implying it was a wig.
