Is this the movie where...

I don't know if this is the movie I'm thinking about, but I saw a movie about 17 years ago. I was around 6 and it scared the crap out of me. I remember a distinct scene where there was a girl and she was hiding from a killer with a mask on. The scene was very atmospheric and almost dreamlike (maybe it's because I was so young and my memory is foggy), but the heroine was hiding underneath something and the killer was across the room and couldn't find her. I seem to keep coming back to a prop or costume room because of the way the room was decorated. Anyways, the heroine was hiding underneath a table or something (can't remember) and she could see the killer and the camera angle was her P.O.V looking at the killer and the killer coming closer but not seeing her yet and she saw it's feet in front of her. The camera angle was tilted and this angle seemed to continue. I also remember a character (maybe her) sliding across the floor with the camera angle tilted like she was pushed or she fell over. That's all I can remember about the movie. If this is the movie I'm thinking of that would be awesome to finally know that I've found it. If it's not Stage Fright, could anyone who knows it, PLEASE help me figure out this movie!
Thanks :)

It sounds a lot like the main scene in the last twenty minutes - with the heroine hiding under a stage and trying to pull a key out that is wedged in the boards above her. The killer is on stage, and because of the owl mask he is wearing the viewer cannot tell if he is watching the key move as she pulls and pokes at it. When she gets the key and tries to moves out from under the stage, he attacks her (either having heard the key drop or because he actually was watching) and the frenzied moves between them make for some odd camera angles in trying to show what is going on. The visuals also get some good tension going during the long retrival of the key, with the light coming through the boards and glimpses of what is on stage making for an unsettled, uncertain space and summary of what is going on above her.

The stage is littered with the corpses of almost every other member of the cast, and the killer and a (really irritating) cat are sat in the centre of the creepy display, facing the empty auditorium. There is a really slow song playing (until just as the key drops) and feathers are being blown across the stage by a fan - so I think this would fit the "dreamlike" quality you mentioned.

BUT - the killer doesn't obviously hunt for her (though the key could have been an unlikely trap), and the "girl" is a woman in her mid to late twenties. So it doesn't quite sound right.

Someone has put the movie (as Stagefright) on Youtube at the moment if you want to check. Try finding the user Campslasher as he has put a lot of slashers on recently - including this.

You could also be referring to the slasher flick Curtains, where right near the end a female character is hiding from the masked killer in a "backstage" area where there are lots of costumes, etc hanging around. The killer is in an old hag mask and the woman is hiding in an floor level air shaft looking through the grate. The killer can't see her but comes closer and closer, then moves away around a corner ...
