She should have chosen the rich guy!!
Even as a kid I thought he was the one I would have chosen!

shareI don't think she'd end up too well if she marry Mr. Harris. Don't get me wrong, he's a handsome man too, but he has his own issues he is trying to work out for himself before he marries any lady. She could later get homesick and lonely if she choose Mr. Harris.
But overall, we know that she loves Gil-- and they're both compatible for each other. Gilbert doesn't have a lot of money like Mr. Harris, but he can sure make Anne and himself feel wealthy by sharing their "kindred spirits".
It would have been interesting if Gil had married Christine, since she came form a wealthy family too. It was decent Gil did break off their engagement though.
shareI was always pro gilbert but in this case I thought the rich guy was a major, delicious hunk.
at least have a fling.
OH THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU SO BLOODY MUCH!!! Basil Fawlty
I thought Mr. Harris looked much too old for Anne, although he wasn't bad looking.
Gilbert, in my opinion, was much better looking and they were more suited to each other. Whether he had money or not, they had a history with each other and it was evident that Gilbert was in love with her and Anne with him.
Anne deal dream of marrying a rich guy in her youth. She really liked being treated to outing by Diana's wealthy aunt. I do think she was tempted to accept Morgan's proposal. But who knows Morgan might have tired of his young wife down the road and cheated on her too. Or he could have been a devoted husband, you never know.
