Any Part that fetures intereaction between Anne and Gilbert! However for some reason I liked the barn scene at Diana's wedding and when Anne came to Gilbert when she thought he was dying.

reply

Of course you disliked those! They are the parts that make you cry!!!! Hehe, at least they make me cry!

"Were you watching the 3rd one?" ~Hannah
"What? Titanic 3- Back to the Iceberg???" ~me

reply

I am a wreck especially when she starts crying too.

I have to say that I too have skipped through the Morgan Harris parts before. Morgan is ok- but Gilbert *sigh*. lol. I love the first proposal, and the whole ending- but I especially love- or at least I always cry(in a good way) when they see each other in Kingsport under the gazebo. When she pulls out the card that says "Congratulations on your success Carrots" my eyes tear up. The whole scene is just so touching.

my fav part is anything with gilbert in it. i really wish that i was born in that time, so the guys would bo so romantic. have any of you ever been to pei? they have this theme park called avonlea, and when you go there, you spend the WHOLE day there, watching skits from the books and movies. when i went, the actor that played gilbert was JUST like gilbert in the movie, and he was so romantic. actually, he was flirting with me.

I went there! We didn't talk much to Gilbert, but we did gossip with Rachel Lynde and proudly told her that "Everyone knows Josie Pye is dead gone on Gilbert Blythe."
It was a wonderful day.

Bloop.

When Anne takes care of Anthony Pye after he locked Minnie May in the outhouse. You can just see the sweat rolling down his face as Anne praises his dog in front of Mr. Pye.

Also when Anne takes attendance at KLC. Those Pringle girls are such bints, especially Jan Pringle. I just wanted to smack her one, but she was so funny. "Yes MISS Shirley." You just wanted to belt her...

Diana trying to explain to Anne why she's marrying Fred is wonderful. Also I love in the beginning when Anne and Gilbert fight about her writing. Then she asks Marilla why he acted like that and she says it's because he loves her. I always have a great cry when she rejects his proposal and when she goes to see him when he's sick. Sigh. Gilbert is awesome. I can do without all the Kingsport stuff. I love the movie as a whole, but it's the scenes with Anne, Gilbert, and Diana that I can watch over and over.

The frist time Gilbert proposes to Anne on the bridge. It breaks the heart.

I like the part when Anne is going off to Kingsport and Rachel and Marilla are standing on the porch talking about it. Rachel says something about Anne changing so much and Marilla says "Oh, she hasn't changed, really. It's us that's changed" and Rachel says "No one can deny she's real tall and stylish now." Marilla: "No one at all."

I just love it, it always makes me tear up.

I also like the part where Josie Pye and others are being really catty about Anne at Diana's engagement party and Christine defends Anne by saying "I don't think that's it at all" or something to that effect.

reply

"I don't want diamond sunbursts or marble halls. I just..want..you."
Nothing compares to that line! And then they kiss!!! *Sigh*

reply

When he says "...please say yes..."

That's about when I burst into tears.

reply

Oh my God, I totally know what you mean! When his voice gets all husky! Aagh!
My favorite part needs to be the interaction between Gilbert and Anne at the beginning, though, when they have their bicycles. It really showcases the day-to-day chemistry they have. Plus Gilbert looks flipping hot in the costume he has on. I think it's the best one he wears in the movie.
Though a close second is the scene where Anne and Gilbert are walking down the path after the Dolly scene and Gilbert keeps on trying to touch Anne and Anne keeps on moving away from him. It took me a few watchings for that to really click.

Bloop.

Oh I hate when he says this. It sounds like he is begging.

I think it's the scene where Katherine Brooke is staring out at the moon and bitterly telling Anne how life turned her into a rancid poisonberry. Absolute MASTERCLASS of script-writing/acting there!

This is my favorite scene -- this and the scenes with Miss Brooke visiting Green Gables. You can tell that Miss Brooke is somewhat taken aback by Anne's living situation -- i.e. that she's adopted, that her family is not a "conventional" one. Brooke had been blaming all her problems on her miserable past, but when she sees that Anne's life must not have been easy either, I think it begins to dawn on her that perhaps life is "what you make it" (as Anne later says).

1. The part where Essie fainted. Actually, any scene with Essie because she was awesome.

2. The part where Jen Pringle gets the strap. It looked a lot more like a switch than a strap to me, but it was so fascinating to watch Jen rattle Anne with her nerves of steel. I think Anne was pained the most because you could tell she didn't really want to hurt Jen, and she was using physical punishment as a last resort. I swear there was more tension in this scene than any one Anne had with Gilbert, except her refusal (but inluding their love scenes).

3. When Anne and Diana try to chase the cow off of Rachael Lynn's property, and Anne falls face-first into the mud. I could see it coming a mile away and was waiting for it, but the gag never gets old.

To be honest I thought the sentimental scenes were alright, but a bit too sappy for my taste. For some reason I think the characters connected better in the first film. I also thought it was pretty ironic that Anne's writing is considered publishable once it is stripped of its foolish love story sentiment, but on the other hand the whole film revolves around Anne's super cheesy, cliche, and more than predictable romance with Gilbert.
