Although it might be nostalgia speaking - I've had American Ninja 2 on the tape when I was a kid and it was naturally, one of my favorites to watch. I've recently watched the first and re-watched the 2nd one, and I must say, the 2nd one is a lot more fun. Yea they're cheesy as hell, but pretty fun! I can't believe that I thought the fight scenes were awesome when I was a kid though xD

Just watched them both for the first time and I thought they were both great, but this one had the edge for me.

Also Steve James had more action and one-liners, so... yeah!

Both are hilarious and over the top, but yeah, this beats the first one in both departments and that's saying something.
