I used to lovie this movie!

Seriously. Sinister, clever big locations and a lot of adventure.

The part where living humans are molten into molten gold was so scary!
Still scares me today! I even remember the trick of Alan Quertermain doing something like throwing explosives into the fire to fake themself as gods or supernatural entity.
It felt eveything but bad and cheap!
I think it amazed me just as much as the Indiana Jones. Probably it wont work today. But this is really amazing how bold and good the memories are. This was one of the most awesome and rare movies to see on television. Sometimes I switched trough channels for hours and suddenly this movie comes and I was like "oh my god this is awesome!". I once tried desperatly to find this movie and could only rmemeber the "golden city" part.

After years I found this movie.
I will never watch it again since the horrible rating and seeing a bit of the first one, but memories are bold. I will always remember them as an awesome childhood experience. I even remember the special effects as very good.
