Tearjerker

I had seen this movie three or four times.
Then one night I caught the last twenty minutes of it.
I can't believe how badly I busted up crying!
I taped it once, but unfortunately I lost the tape. I really wish that I had kept it to induce a good cry when I need it!
The cast was spectacular. I don't think that I can remember a group of kids (especially eight boys) giving such wonderful performances.

once you see this movie, you never forget it. I wish tv played this movie instead of popular "money making movies" This movie is a definate classic.

Here Here! To this day, everytime I hear of Mark Harmon in anything, I think of this movie. I just saw something for NCIS and I thought of this movie so I came to visit. Highly underrated as a very emotional movie.

I agree and am glad to have found others who feel the same way. I have only seen the movie once. it was on Lifetime in 1997 and every copy I've seen seems to be very expensive....Id love to see that movie again someday.

One of the reasons the movie was under rated was it was first aired opposite of "The Burning Bed" That move had more exposure and was advertised more as well.

I love this movie. I kinda wished I could get the tape or something. I dunno they don't really make much guy drama. It's usually all guns and girls to me. But this movie is definitely worth it and who says guys are all insensitive?

I saw this movie in about 1989 or 1990 when we watched it at highschool. I've never forgotten it, though I don't know that I'd wish to see it again. Some scenes really stick in your mind, so it definately left an impression on this ex-teenager.

I orederd the movie on amazon.com, cuz I remember when I first saw it on TV,it just tore me to pieces seeing how these little boys were being very horribly abused and their father trying desperately trying to get them back!!!

Mark Harmon did an excellent job in the movie-in fact the WHOLE CAST was excellent!!!

I just watched the movie and have to say tore me inside and im a guy!! You feel for the dad and all of the boys as well and how it effected them individually. Got to say the acting by the boys and the father was amazing much better than the movies we see now this is one film ill never forget..

This is such a sad and poignant film. Someone in another thread mentioned that Elmer brought a lot of the misery along with his bad temper, but nevertheless, what a cruel society, all he did ask was a few dollars.

Excellently acted and oh man, I cried and cried and cried.
