I do know what happened as they are my family. No; my father was sexually abused and has major issues, three brothers have died, one has been in and out of prison and none of them have had a meaningful solid relationship. This has affected generations. I can tell you how messed up they all were and all the damage it caused. I am a writer and plan to finish the saga; write about the aftermath of it all. I do wish to wait until my father passes away.

I don't want to start a fight or anything, but I was under the impression that although this movie is based on actual events, it wasn't about a specific family. The reason I am wondering this is because at the end of the movie (during the ending credits), it has the statement about " the persons and events in this film are fictious. Any similarity to actual persons or events is purely coincidental."
Honestly, That gave me a bit of comfort after watching the movie (I was in tears), because although the events in the movie are sadly realistic, I felt better knowing that it wasn't about a real family. If this is really about your family, I want you to know that I have nothing but the best wishes for them. I'm sure the boys had a long road of recovery ahead of them, after the traumatic childhood they endured.
