You Think They'd Notice....

Towards the end of the movie when Chris and the kids pass the parents on the highway, just as she takes over them at 80mph, the mom says, "Look at that lunatic! Brad and Sara are gonna be driving soon, they're gonna be on the road with people like that" - The parents look directly at Chris's car, surely they've got to notice it's her and the kids Wouldn't they have seen it parked outside their own house when the leave for the Associates Party?

Also, when Chris, Brad and Daryl leave the French restaurant after confronting Mike, there's a billboard poster of the Playboy photo clearly in view, and Chris suddenly looks around and notices Sara isn't there - wouldn't she have seen the Playboy photo? She only sees it for the first time later on at the Frat Party, prior to that, Brad and Daryl have the magazine in the back of the car.

And - when Sarah is hanging outside the window to the Associates party, you would think that out of all those party guests that one of them (if not a few) would see Sara outside the window! But no, nobody seems to bat an eyelid that she's there.

The frat party comes before the French restaurant / Playboy sign scene. Watching it now. ?

The question mark in my reply is a typo.

Very Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Chris is driving an extremely generic station wagon. They were everywhere in the suburbs. I drive a beige Impala, along with at least half the people in my town - it definitely doesn't surprise me.

1. As another poster mentioned, it's a generic station wagon. Also, it's dark out, the parents are idiots, and they aren't expecting Chris and the kids to be out at that hour, so it doesn't cross their mind.

2. The confrontation with Mike at the French restaurant occurs late in the film, right before they go into the parents' building and have their final showdown with the bad guys. The frat party happens much earlier, and in any case, Chris's doppelgänger is not exactly the top thing on her mind.

3. The idea is that only Chris and Bleak notice Sara out there, and before anyone else can, Chris distracts everyone by making Bleak trip and fall, so people's attention is drawn away from the window. Of course it's absurd that no one else would have noticed beforehand, and it requires a major suspension of disbelief. The director, Chris Columbus, seems to have learned a few things from John Hughes (who'd later work together with him on Home Alone) in that the children are all smart and wise and the adults are clueless morons.
