There is also LADY ON A TRAIN with Deanna Durbin, Ralph Bellamy and Dan Duryea which is a variation on the same idea. If you look quick you can spot Lash LaRue before he took up the whip.

I'd never heard of 'Lady On The Train' (1945) before your post. I would like to watch that one to see how similar the stories are. I wonder if Agatha Christie got the idea for her 1957 book from having seen that film?

yes. Murder She Said, it's the best of the margaret Rutherford Miss mArples, the only one to be actually based on a Miss Marple Story,, and follows the plot of the original story reasonably closely (in some ways more closely than the joan Hickson one).
