Remaster is a mixed blessing...

On the one hand, the entire movie was amazingly crisp, and the colors popped nicely, such as Jessica Tandy's red bathrobe against the grey pigeon coop.

On the other hand, this pointed out some glaring matte paintings that I'd never noticed before, such as the background of the neighborhood when they're all together on the roof when they are first discovering their missing stuff, and the building at the end. Very fake and very obvious. Also, the "robot in the bread box" seen was very badly translated. With everything else being so clear, it stood out as the only truly bad effect in the whole movie(aside from the matte paintings mentioned above).

So the remaster was awesome, but it exposed some flaws I never saw I am the 10 or so tines I watched this movie back in the day, although is was still an OCD-oriented film geek from an early age.
