Possibly the greatest film of all time.

Everything in this film is perfection. One of the greatest of all time.

Perfection? Far from it. I like the movie and it is a fun sequel, but there is a lot wrong.

Why would a Colombian drug lord in the 80s be afraid of the DEA getting pictures of him killing someone?

Why did a drug cartel have to wait for the pictures to get to NYC to intercept them, wouldn't it have been easier to just go to the local messenger service (how many could there be in the remote Colombian mountains) where the Cartel would have an infinitely higher level of influence?

Why would the drug kingpin go to NYC himself to kidnap a well known reporter instead of just sending people to do his dirty work?

After Sue is rescued and the cops get the film/pictures, why risk life and limb to pursue them to Australia for revenge? A drug king pin running a "$100 million business" would have people to exact his revenge for him, or at least have Mick and Sue brought to him so he could do the dirty work himself - in Colombia where he isn't likely to be arrested.

Again it is an entertaining movie but I wouldn't even put it in the top 1000 movies - let alone one of the greatest of all time.

"Stephen Root",who plays the bearded D.E.A agent known as "Toilet" early on in the movie gets killed off right away. Pretty sad as i remember him seeming like the type that should get captured and then rescued towards the end instead of just killed off. I liked his character. Kind of a wise guy but not a punk or jerk. Reminded me of myself actually, his sarcastic mannerisms and such. They should'nt have bumped him off like they did "imsho"(In my sincere honest opinion). Anyone else feel the same way pertaining to this particular faulty detail of this otherwise very good flick...?

I think the druglord was suppose to be the antithesis to Mick Dundee (at least on the morality scale). Yet the bad guy is similar, Just like how Dundee made it a point to take care of himself as well as save and protect his wife, the druglord takes pride in handling problems himself. Its also probably why he is the man in charge, he took charge and handled business himself when things happened in his drug realm.

Thats how I viewed it. Just because someone gains success and is rich, doesnt mean they dont get their hands dirty anymore. the druglord probably had fun going out and handling things.

the greatest of all????haha

you know what though i love the pace of the movie
it takes its time
it doesnt panic

I think you described very simply, why this movie is so great. I too have more fun watching this one than the original. And the nice touches, ohhhh so many! The "keeping my jacket" scene, the punch through the door to get the shotgun assassin, Mick being a man and going and getting his wife back as well as protecting her on his own turf, the aborigines joking about cannibalism (the looks on the tied up bad guys faces was pure hilarity), this movie was really fun and I gotta get this on bluray but for the longest time I wanted to get a DVD Double Feature collection that has them both!

I think Hoges would thank you for the compliment, but he himself wouldn't subscribe to your opinion. It's a pleasant enough film, but hardly riveting.

I love this 1 out of all of them because it puts Mick in danger.

Lol, greatest film of all time.

this topic is hilarious, it's a decent sequel but calling it the greatest film of all time caught my eye, this is less re watchable than the first since that is more of a fun and relaxed movie experience and this is more adventure like and contains some brutal scenes and language, people must have been caught off guard how different in style this is from the first, also i find dundee and sue were more likeable in the first movie, the egg bit in the apartment was just disgusting. i like in the beginning how the sergeant recognises it's dundee fishing and just lets him go and the police around looks confused. it was nice to see dundee back in the pub in australia, if going by when the movies were made, they wouldn't have seen him for a couple of years i guess. one of my favorite parts of the movie is the scene with the little fella sitting on a rock or something having a beer and the villain shows up - "you should have bought a gun instead of a beer, mate" - "nah, i don't need a gun, i got a donk.", villain laughs "a what!?", donk appears - "donk" πŸ‘Š
