Grossly Overlooked

What a great dramatic show this was.
Great acting, excellent stories. The series really got you involved in these characters lives. Then some moron pulled the plug on this little TV gem after only a season.
Here's how idiotic the network was: Richard Kiley, who played the family patriarch on AYITL was nominated and WON a best actor Emmy award AFTER the show was cancelled. His win was proof of the shows great acting and writing.
The studio puts in the nominations for their own shows and actors. They were too stupid to realize that if Richard Kiley had won, it would have meant a huge boost for the show. Because typically when a show wins a major award like that it starts to get some attention. I think A Year in the Life could have been revived by this Emmy win if the dopes at the network hadn't cancelled it prematurely. It at least deserved a second season.
