The premise would still hold up today.My personal pick for the lead would be Jeffrey Donovan.Always wondered why Wahl left the show and why he eventually quit acting.

Wahl left the show over salary and "direction of the show dispute" he was replaced by Steven Bauer. He got in a bad accident in August of '92. He fell down a flight of stairs and broke his neck. Hes disabled now. Hes retired. Hes a civilian now.
