is there anything we can do to expedite the DVD

release of this brilliant show?

I agree - I'd buy the DVD set in a second. Brilliant comedy, great musical numbers that fit within a story - The character of Francesca has to be seen to be believed - her episode with her tyrannical gym teacher (Betty Thomas) is one of my all-time favorite TV sketches.
James L. Brooks, we want to give you money!

I've been waiting. I can't understand why it isn't available. What's the hold-up? There is certainly an audience for it. I always liked this better than Tracey Takes on which I find only moderately funny. I liked the ensemble cast of the original series. Anyway, I'm ready to give someone my money for this one. My kids (who were babies when during the run of the Tracey Ullman show) love her and would love to see this series. What's sad is no one has even picked up the re-runs.

Go to this website, register (free) and vote for it's release. That's the best we can do now to try and get a DVD release.

I'm guessing part of the problem, as to why this hasn't been released as of yet, is due to music rights. She did do a lot of singing within the context of the skits, and perhaps there are legal difficulties in getting the rights to these songs, because of that fact. (Though you'd think it wouldn't be so expensive, compared to the cost of clearing the songs if they had been sung by the original artists who first recorded them.) It's a shame... I'd LOVE to see this show again!

My guess is along those lines only I think it is The Simpsons clips that are holding it up. The cost for using those must be exorbitant. I would be willing to have the DVDs without the Simpsons personally. I love the Simpsons and I enjoyed the shorts on the show but they weren't the reason I watched. The music could be it but so much of it was oldies and I can't imagine it would be any more expensive than it is when a movie is released to DVD (they only did one musical number per show, if memory serves).

I totally want this DVD!!! but agree it's probably due to the cost of licensing the music.
