Militäry ABC: Squad, platoon, company

How many men are there in a squad, a platoon and in a company?
On the Firebase Ladybird are, if I got that right, 3 companies: the alpha-company, the Bravo-company and the Charlie-company. Is it right that Anderson and Goldman are the leaders of the B-company (and actually, have nothing to do with the A- and the C-company)?
The main characters of the first season: Taylor, Ruiz, Johnson, Baker, Percell and Horn, are friends and they share the same tent. Are they too in the same platoon?

Sry if my questions sound stupid, but I'm female, and I'm not American, so I don't know all these things and get confused when the characters talk about it as if it were self-understood.

English is not my first language. Any corrections are welcome.

Thanks so much for your information, dave (?). How comes that you know so much about it?
As for website, I think it would take me too long to understand what Lee russell wrote there. Let me be lazy and post my questions here...

This is a pretty old post but typically in an infantry Battalion:

1.) A Squad consists of 11 soldiers led by the Squad Leader (Sergeant or Staff Sergeant).
2.) Platoon consists of 4 squads (44 soldiers in total) led by a Platoon Leader (2nd or 1st Lieutenant) and a Platoon Sergeant (Sergeant First Class).
3.) Company consists of 2 or more platoons led by a Comany Commander (Captain) and a First Sergeant (Master Sergeant).
4.) The battalion comprises 3 or more companies led by a Battalion Commander (Lieutenant Colonel) and the Battalion Sergeant Major.
