I didn't see anything about TNG coming back in the link. A bunch of other Trek related stuff tho.

I'm sceptical f this going anywhere with TNG crew.

Frakes and Sirtis might get to do a 'Married (With Xyrillians)' spin-off but that's about it in my opinion.

reply

Not necessarily tng. Just says with Picard. I think i heard somewhere that maybe it would be Picard in charge of Star Fleet Academy. I'm sure regardless of the plot, if they have Picard in it, they will at least have some of the others as guest stars from time to time.

Latest news is that Picard and Kirk will appear in an episode together along with a bridge to the Voyager series in that episode as well. Rumor is that Picard and Kirk will both be transporting somewhere while unbeknownst to them a sample of the dna combining alien orchid from the Voyager episode Tuvix had somehow contaminated Picard’s clothing in a recent visit to a Starfleet research center. When the two officers arrive at their beamdown point, they have fused into one entity - Captain Pikirk.

Exactly, it's a new series, not necessarily The Next Generation. He may be taking on a new ship, a new Enterprise. That'd be cool!

reply

According to Stewart, he will be very different. So after 20 years, I doubt he will be leading a new Enterprise on a exploration mission. He will most likely be on a different profession, perhaps retired or an ambassador like Spock, but it won't be like TNG was.

Maybe he is retired and something catastrophic happens and he is asked to come back from retirement? Maybe his career ended on a bad note? Who knows, either way I am excited!

Patrick Stewart @SirPatStew

It is an unexpected but delightful surprise to find myself excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him. Read my full statement in the photo.

I hope in this series, they finally show a race that was assimilated by the Borg that stands around 40 or 50 feet tall. That would rock to see gigantic Borg striding around.

I thought Picard was just making a guest appearance on Discovery?

reply

don't think so. What keeps star trek in continuity---unlike other series is that they don't keep the same exact series rebooting. It remains fresh and new.
