Too boring and PC - Kirk and ToS rule!

ToS with Kirk is still widely regarded as a classic and brilliant series (despite the constant slow-drip of brainwashing feminism in the media and social culture)- a thinking, skillful capt who wasn't afraid to smack aliens in the face when needed and snog gorgeous birds (in mini skirts!).

Where no man has gone before...

Picard and his dull crew were always dithering and the Capt asking his 'counsellor' to guide his PC decisions, always landed on planets with NO redshirt equivalent... and the entire show is oh-so very correct.

Where no ONE has gone before.....zzzzzz

TNG has its issues (namely Wesley and the first two seasons) but honestly, I like a lot of the stories more than, say, TOS season 3 for example.

And they swapped two of the three main colours between TOS and TNG - Goldshirts are the new redshirts. The shows reflect the times in which they were made, but if you want a more Kirk-esque Captain in a war situation, I suggest you try DS9.

You sound like you were born loooong before TNG, JH66. Oh, wait, so was I, but I still like ALL the Trek shows, except maybe the new Discovery show.

I love the "TOS" but the portrayal of women left a lot to be desired. At least TNG came along and gave us women with agency. That may not please people who grew up on "TOS" but it certainly pleases me.

I always found all the post TOS shows TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT to be boring and PC. It's no wonder the Kelvin timeline movies and Discovery have gone back to the TOS style and era.
