Favorite One time(including two parters) guest stars

There's a lot of great ones. But, if I had a gun to me head, I'd probably have to go with David Warner. What about you guys?

RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.

reply

My favorite one time guest star was without a doubt Famke Janssen. My favorite recurring actor who wasn't a series regular was Suzie Plakson.

Gays should be banned and thrown off the top of building while tied to chairs.

I'm tell you, this guy is a real first class tool. The guy lies, gets all mad at me when I talk about supporting gay rights, and then stalks me, both in the threads and in PM's.

Just ignore this guy. He's probably kin to the clowns chasing CJ all over this site.

Nice, Censor. Nex, Sorvino and O'Quinn are two of my faves as well. You forgot Bob Gunton as Captain Maxwell. He was phenomenal as well.

RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.

Story related to Bob Gunton: When I was in college I worked in a liquor store part time, and this guy used to come in all the time and I always thought he looked really familiar but I just couldn't place him. I told him that one day and he said "I get that a lot, my brother is an actor" but he wouldn't say who. Eventually I remember him from Star Trek and Shawshank and told the guy that I've seen his brother in Trek and he said "Yeah, probably, he did a lot of weird stuff like that."

reply

Bob Gunton-The Wounded
Mark Margolis-A Matter Of Perspective
Hallie Todd-The Offspring
Kelsey Grammer-Cause And Effect
Richard Herd-Birthright
Fionnula Flanagan-Inheritance

reply

I don't recall any of those specifically except Gunton and Grammer. Babe Neuwirth, since you mentioned Grammer, though.

Mark Margolis played the scientist Riker supposedly murdered,He is know for small roles in Scarface(the cartel bomb guy),1492(some monk Columbus insults),Pi(a mathematician and friend of the main character),Hannibal(a guy who works at a perfume house he smells Lecter's letter).

Hallie Todd she played Data's "daughter" Lal.

Richard Herd played a Klingon L'Kor friend of Worf's father.Probably best know for his role in "V" as John the leader of the aliens. He also was a regular on many tv series such as Seaquest DSV,A-team,T.J. Hooker,Falcon Crest,Knight Rider,Dallas, and minor roles in movies like The China Syndrome,F.I.S.T.AND All The President's Men.

Fionnula Flanagan played Data's "mother" is probably known for her role as the horny landlady in Youngblood.

Don't forget Hector Salamanca from Breaking Bad, possibly the role he's most famous for.

Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie yet?

reply

Ah yes. That's a classic episode.

I'm a little surprised no one has mentioned Leonard Nimoy, DeForrest Kelly, or James Doohan.

reply

Leonard Nimoy was my favourite.

reply

Leonard Nimoy's Spock is always a joy to watch. A lot of the credit for that has to go to NBC. Nimoy was very close to leaving Star Trek after the first season, but NBC insisted on keeping him.

reply

I heard the opposite - the execs at NBC thought Spock looked demonic with the ears and wanted him gone, but the show producers talked them out of it.

Leonard Nimoy stayed because it was the logical thing to do.

I heard the opposite - the execs at NBC thought Spock looked demonic with the ears and wanted him gone, but the show producers talked them out of it.

That was when they were pitching the pilot. In fact, after the show was picked up they even airbrushed Spock's pointy ears out of a sales brochure. After Leonard Nimoy became a fan hit in the first season he demanded a raise before season two. Gene Roddenbery was ready to go with a different actor to play Spock, but the NBC executives insisted that Leonard Nimoy return.

I thought of those as well but as Trekkies we can hardly call them "guest stars" special appearances would be a better definition in their cases.

reply

That sounds like a reasonable explanation. Although no matter what you call them I believe they deserve mention. I thought James Doohan in particular was outstanding in his "special appearance".

Honestly, Drunk, you're right. They should've been mentioned. I completely forgot about them. Kirsten Dunst is another good one.
