Salgari?

I don't think it was based on a particular Emilio Salgari novel. If I remember correctly, during the end credits, it says something like "Inspired from the works of Emilio Salgari". However, it's been some time since I saw this. But if you do find out if it's based on a particular novel, let me know. Thanks!
