Remote Control came to my hometown in 1988

I believe it was 1988. MTV had a contest where Belinda Carlisle came to your home and did a mini-concert. Someone who lived about a half mile away won the contest. MTV came to their house for 3-4 days and filmed. But it wasn't just Belinda Carlisle. They did an episode of Remote Control and they bused in the MTV dancers. I remember seeing Ken Ober and 'Downtown' Julie Brown walking around. About six weeks later, it all aired on MTV.

It was in Adams, Massachusetts, by the way. Close enough to New York City (less than four hours away) where they could drive/bus people in.
