Sessions Too Old?

Seems weird to see a 34-year-old behaving like a frazzled undergraduate. Was Zipser this old in the book? If so, what's his deal?

Hmmm. I think Zipser was an undergraduate and I'm sure he was in the book. I don't know that research grads have to be in college by midnight. The point about Zipser is that he was there as a scholar - ie he got there on brains - rather than as the son of a wealthy benefactor. Zipser was a scholar whilst the rest, from moneyed backgrounds, were gentlemen.

In the programme, Skullion states Zipser is a research student

Furthermore when he goes to see his supervisor (Prof Siblington), it mentions he has been studying 2 years

So he is probably a PhD student

It is quite possible/common for a PhD student to be in their late 20s. Certainly at Cambridge there were lots of PhD student in late 20s, early 30s

In the book it states Zipser has attended Durham for his undergrad
