does she ever find out who her dad is?

My gosh this show was so long ago I am trying to remember, if I recall.....they never found out, is that right? But for some reason I do remember then getting tested?>>

It was Michael

Was Michael really revealed to be her dad? I was a kid when I watched this but I believe I remembered an episode where she had a paternity test but in the end teared the results up without opening the envelope because she didn't want to find out. Did I just imagine that? Which season did she find out it was Michael and how did it play out? Thanks.

reply

I think I remember that they got the results, but one of the dads put the results in the oven or something, so they wouldn't really find out. Then again, I was about 6 years old when I watched this show!

reply

Thats right; they never looked at the Paternity Test results. I always thought Michael was her father though so maybe it was revealed somewhere.

That is what I remember as well juliebeenz that they had the results but never really looked at it though. The last time I saw this in syndication was when USA Network use to run shows like this on during the day instead of marathons of like Law and Order, NCIS, or any of the other crime and drama shows that USA Network likes to show on now instead of some real entertainment.

Yeah I remember that episode because she liked it the way it was that she had two dads. I am not sure it has been so long since I have seen this as well Gina. I wished USA Network was still the old way instead of this new way where all they want to show is crime and drama shows.

USA Network use to be a lot better than what it is now because they would have shows on there that no other network would show. That is a part of the reason why I loved USA Network and then I also use to remember watching USA UP ALL NIGHT late on a Friday and Saturday night as well! Those were the days when USA Network was a lot better than what it is now.

Judge Wilbur brought the results to their apartment. She was against them getting the test done and she convinced them to make up and be her two dads. Michael, Joey, and Nicole hug. Then, Judge Wilbur ripped up the paper and threw it over them like confetti.

I think I remember that episode, but it has been since the late 90's to possibly early 2000's when I last saw that episode. It was shown on the old USA Network programming prior to NBC completely doing a over haul of USA Networks programming to how it is now. I liked the old programming better than how it is now on USA Network.

Holy *beep* I remember that, too! I remembered that they either tore up the results, or burned them or something. I mean, who the hell cares who the father was? They were friends and could still BE like fathers to her no matter which one it was. I think they were afraid it was neither one nor the other, because her mom was obviously a whore. Still, totally cheesey and I am sure Paul Reiser hated himself for ever having been on this joke of a show.

reply

Why is the mom a whore? Haven't you ever liked/loved two people at once? And she did leave... not continuing on with the indecision. Kinda harsh...

Neither one of them was the father. That's why The Judge tore the paper up because it was irrelevant.

That whole series was so full of ish, it's a miracle that it lasted 3 seasons. It HAD to been made in the 80s. Definitely pre-Maury. They should have a reunion show of MTD and have Maury say the DNA test of who's the father.

reply

It was Alf.

They both were her real dad....maybe not blood but they both loved her completely and totally. They each brought something into the family that each of them needed and it was nice to see these MEN not shirking responsibilities. Sure one was her dad by blood but they were both her dad by heart. And I think thats whats important. Not to mention that nowadays if this happened most guys would be sitting there waiting for the results so they didnt get "stuck" with a kid.

They never explicitly said who her biological father was, however, in the last episode Joey got engaged to an old girlfriend of his who had moved to Arizona but was in NY visiting. He moved to Arizona to be with his new fiance, while Nicole remained in NY with Michael. So while they never actually said it I always took this to be a subtle hint that Michael was the biological father.

It was Wilbur J Chucklebutt!!!

Always remember that line - class.

^ are you sure you aren't getting MTD mixed up with "Mama Mia!" ?

Yeah, exactly. If Michael hadn't been, she probably would've had to go with him to Arizona.

Maybe they wanted to find out who her dad was so the other one would be free to start hitting that.

reply

she didn't look like either one. there was a third guy revealed. it was a one night stand. sorry.

It's been a while since I saw the finale, but the way I remember it, they opened the letter, but none of them were surprised to find out the real father was Bea Arthur.
