Worst MWC Episode

I want to say that I love this show and there are rarely any stinker episodes but I really did not like the Top of the Heap episode, I know it was used as a promotional episode but it was still awful.

I think that they produced that episode because every show has one POS episode, and they just wanted to get theirs over with. It certainly was a cringe worthy episode.

reply

That is a hard question to answer. I did not like any of the "NO MA'AM" episodes. The worst season is season 10.

reply

Yup. I'm watching it these days, and Season 10 is the most boring.

Chicago Shoe Exchange. The Al and Griff plot was okay, but the Bud subplot was horrible.

reply

The three backdoor pilots for intended spinoffs, a lot of earlier episodes especially those that were Marcy/Steve-centric, Seven-centric episodes, The Juggs Have Lefts the Building, Route 666, It's a Bundyful Life, and three episodes in England, partly because it conflicts with at least one later episode where Al & Bud aren't the only males Bundys.

It actually conflicts with an earlier episode as well. The season 5 one called "And Baby Makes Money" where there were plenty of male Bundys shown including the newborn baby.

I was actually referring to "And Baby Makes Money" because I thought it took after the England episodes and later discovered it took place before, which would mean Gene and the roadkill-scraping cousin are both dead, but I hadn't considered the baby male Bundy. I think Cousin Jimmy was from Al's side, but he could've been a second cousin to Kelly & Bud without the Bundy surname since there was never any mention of Al having a sibling. It's very unbelievable that the only male Bundy descendants of Seamus Bundy who lived in Lower Uncton in 1653 are/were Al and Bud.

Top of the Heap was the worst, by far. But the Bundys weren't even really in it.

I agree with an above poster about most of the NO MA'AM episodes. Just dull writing for the most part.

I disliked the T*R*A*S*H episode too, way too boring & unfunny.

The ones in England were silly & way overlong.

The one where pregnant Peg runs back to Wanker County was more sickening than funny.
The only funny line there was when the young girl tells them her new older hubby still has all his teeth [old guy rattles a bottle of his teeth].

Episode where Bud's pen pals take the Bundys hostage was pretty crappy too.

Penfold, shush.

I don't know the name on the spot, but it's the one from season 5 where none of the characters, except Al for a few minutes, even appeared. It started with a cat in the window.

The worst episode of MWC was the one where Bob Rooney knocked Kelly up. But when it completely disgusted the viewing audience, it was fortunately deleted from the regular line-up and soon forgotten - much to Christina Applegate's enormous relief.

reply

Any episode featuring that kid, Seven. Out of nowhere he randomly appears in the seventh season, only to disappear before the season is over! I don't know, but those episodes were boring and awkward with that kid.

Bob Rooney knocked Kelly up. What episode was that. I don't recall.

@TheRealFantasyBrunette

Totally agree! I don't know why but watching any episodes with Seven in it brings the same sensation to me that chewing on tinfoil does! His appearance in the show was so forced and phony. They didn't just offer it up to the audience to "buy", they shoved down our throats and violated us with it. LOL, sorry maybe a little over dramatic....but i felt it almost ruined the show!

it breaks my heart when Katey Sagal had to go thru (i can't even begin to imagine the sadness) and i'm sure the writers were scrambling to come up with something but Seven was just a BAD way to go.

and don't get me wrong i love kids! but for this show it just didn't work.

I just watched the T.R.A.S.H. Episode the other day and you are right it was boring and unfunny.

reply

"Bud Hits The Books" Bud is caught "amusing himself" on video in the library

"A Little Off The Top" Al gets accidentally circumcised.

Both episodes went for the lowest form of humor

reply

I kinda agree about the first one you mentioned, that was tacky, icky & kinda overused.
But I found the circumcision one hilarious, Ed O'Neill really perked that episode up.

"Top of the Heap" episode along with any episode centered on Buck talking but pretty much a lot of episodes from season 7-11. There were a lot of duds and some good once. The show was a lot better in the early seasons.

Top of the Heap and Enemies were my 2 least favorite episodes, also i didn't really enjoy the episodes with Seven in them. I don;t even know what they tried to include his character in the show, i am just glad he didn't last too long.

reply

Is Enemies that episode for another failed show? That one was horrible as well but it was still better than Top of the Heap.

"Rock of Ages"

The Bundys waiting at an airport. Al pretending to be an old rock star "playing" a sandwich by smashing it into his face and screaming into it was the most cringeworthy thing in the entire series.

I don't know the name but the stupid two part episode where Al forbids breast-feeding in the shoe store and then Marcy leads some kind of protest. So stupid.

reply

The episodes where Peg and Marcy were both pregnant are generally regarded as the worst.

reply

All except If Al Had a Hammer.

England episode were the worst.
