Jefferson or Steve?

Personally I'd go with Jefferson. His isms with Al were just classic. I loved how we insulted Marcy behind her back, but turned into an instant coward when she was around. I loved the 'Yes Ma'am' t-shirt.
Don't get me wrong, I liked Steve, I just thought Jefferson was better. I'm glad they went in a totally fpdifferent direction when they cast him and he just wasn't another Steve

The show certainly became far more watchable and funny after Jefferson came in, the more cartoonish it became more timeless and hilarious, and sometimes when it got sillier the more intelligent creativity was behind it, the quality and humour is especially less constrained by time of its cultural humour unlike the earlier seasons. Cartoonish nature of art more often reaches far beyond fashion, customs, trends, it appeals to the senses that any child can get without being aware of what's going on in the world. That's something more universal, the quality in the vein of Tom and Jerry can always reach far deeper into our psyche that more people share. Perhaps why the newer shows that tend to take themselves too serious or being too embedded in the real world can hardly reach the worldwide appeal of something like MWC. For me personally 99% of all shows and film franchises I've ever seen always get better later on, probably because there's a space for improving.

I liked Jefferson more. He seemed to play the buddy role that would come in many shows after, really well. Steve was ok, but the dry humor didn't work for me as well.

I liked Steve, but Jefferson was my guy! Remember when the gang ventured into the inner city and Marcy and Jefferson went into a diner. I think they went to the bar talking hip to the bartender and Jefferson was moving his head in a sassy way. I cracked up.

Jefferson because he wasn't a kiss ass like Steve was, Jefferson was also more of a free thinker which I liked.

Jefferson, Marcy and Steve were the same person and it was too much. Jefferson was a completely different type of character from the rest of the cast and it gave Al a believable sidekick. Pairing Al with Steve for a scheme never really made sense because Steve would naturally be opposed to it.
