SPOILER ALERT!! In 'Remorseful Day' who was the 16 yr.old Roy's father?

Towards the end, that doctor who was talking with Morse said the only one Yvonne cared for was a 16 yr. old boy, Roy. I took it to mean that Yvonne was his mother but he was being raised by that burglar (Harry?) and his wife, Patty (?) Then it seemed that Roy found out from his "father" that Joe would be working on roof and Simon planned to kill him. Roy sabotaged Simon's plan by riding his bike by Simon and hitting the ladder causing Joe to fall and die. The "father" then asked Roy to go to the police and confess he had knocked over ladder by accident. My question - Who was Roy's "father?" Harry was already dead. Was it Mr. Harrison's child with Patty. Was it Yvonne's child with another man?

Hmm, I'm loathe to spoil the puzzle by putting you straight - the fun is working it out for yourself. Can you watch the episode again? Fast-forward to where Morse is sitting on the bench with Sir Lionel and watch his face as the penny drops and he realises how he's been hoodwinked...
