Danny was a pretty young dad....

I'm just binge watching this show and DJ is ten. Around S1 episode 9 or 10, Danny flips out about turning 30. He states he also bought his car 10 years ago. That means he had DJ at 19 or 20, had enough money to buy a classic car while quite young, and support a family. Granted there was a 5 year gap until Stephanie, and a 4 or 5 year gap until Michelle. I think he stated somewhere he'd been married or was with his wife for 13 years.... So he maybe married at 17?

He talks about wild times in that car too, and not really alluding to his wife with those stories.

He also managed to go to college through all this too and have a pretty well decked out house (even if he didn't initially pay for it).

I could be wrong, but.... Wow. He was a bit of a lad.

Or he had rich parents who pretty much helped him out whenever he needed it.

This probably explains why Danny needed live-in adults to help raise his own children.

It's a TV show. Not meant to be taken seriously.

That's progress.

Still debate worthy.

My Mom was 16 when I was conceived, and 17 when I was born. So I don't see Danny being around 17 or 18 a stretch

reply

wow, do you have any kids?

Where did you binge watch it?! I've been trying to find the series on a streaming service!

reply

If you're in Canada and you have Netflix it's on there right now.

Read somewhere that he and Pam ran off to elope; possibly right out of high school; as in his college show ( when Joey realizes he promised himself a deadline) he showed a picture of his baby. He may have had Bullet since he was a teen; so parents could have got for him...

reply

When Jesse wanted to elope Danny mentioned he & Pam eloped

Many people get married and have children at a young age. Especially conservatives.

reply

Yes. He turned 30 that first season, DJ was already 10. So, he was 19 when she was born.

Maybe he got the car cheap. Maybe he even bought it from his parents, who didn't make him pay the full amount upfront. You know, set up an installment plan.

Joey once told Jesse that Danny went to college on a Billard's scholarship. Not sure if he was joking. But Danny seems the type that would have been a good student, so he could have gotten some kind of scholarship.

They moved into the house around 1981 or 1982. Danny probably had his Sportscaster job, by then.

I think he and Pam were 18 when they got married. On the episode, Danny's Very First Date. He said "I haven't been on a date since I took Pam to the Senior prom." Which indicates they must have eloped after the prom.
