two girlfriends same actress

In "The Quilt of Hathor" Ryan fell in love with Laura Grange. But I don't see why in a future episode "Wedding in Black" they had to cast the same actress Carolyn Dunn as Maya, as one of his past girlfriends?? Dunn was acceptable in "Cupid's Quiver" because she was only an acquaintance but it certainly does mess up our feelings when we become romantically involved along with the stars, I wonder why they must do this - hurting for actresses? Great series nevertheless.

One of the actors, Denis Forest, was cast as 4 different villains on the show. All very prominent characters that you couldn't help but notice were the same actor.

I am in total agreement that Carolyn Dunn played all of her parts well in this series, and was a good cast choice. But to put in my two cents, though my original post was not expressed well, for me, those series or movies that I thoroughly enjoy, I put myself into them involving myself personally with the story and characters. In "The Quilt of Hathor" Miss Dunn was involved romantically with Ryan and I accepted them. But a year later to see her also cast as Ryan's past lover in "Wedding in Black" somehow interrupted and confused his first romance I witnessed with Laura Grange. Cathy Steiner in "Double Exposure" teamed up with Ryan beautifully as a romantic partner so there are other actresses out there, however I cannot rule out that perhaps at the time, Miss Dunn was the only one available and suited for the role. Steiner was also in "Coven of Darkness" but she was not cast as Ryan's girlfriend so all worked for me as if she had been, I would be saying the same thing. I guess my point is - for some people it's hard to switch gears when romance is involved (at least it is for me). Most likely not a good analogy, but its like Dick York and Dick Sargent in the 60s TV series 'Bewitched". I know all the why's and wanting to keep the popular series running, but it can be difficult.
