"Vanity's Mirror" episode

You know, that was the only episode I've always came across whenever the show aired at night time on the Scifi channel when I was a kid in the early 90s. I remember loving the episode because it was a "love story" and everytime the moment with Helen & Scott at the end being "lovers" comes I've always imagined a moment like that with my grade school crush I was good friends with. And let me also say that I've found the girl Helen attractive when I was a kid but having watching this episode recently, eww.

Just wanted to share my experience with this episode...

she had a nasty attitude and dirty feet. she came off piggish! not a Sympathetic Character at all.

If I remember the episode right (and it's been awhile) we kind of COULD have felt bad for her, at first, but the more she used the compact the less sympathetic she became (even trying to kill her own sister).

However, I think a lot of their characters were like that and not without reason. It shows the corrupting effect of the antiques on the users.

I agree that she's not a sympathetic character, but that's one of the reasons that I love the episode. It plays with the trope of the sweet, but homely character you're supposed to root gets the guy/girl in the end. Fun episode!

Haha, wow, exact same thing I felt as a kid watching this. I remember this was on when I was 5/6 years old and 90% of the time I thought that I dreamt the Vanity Mirror episode. No one in my family ever remembered it or what the name of the show was and then as always the internet proved I was not dreaming!
