Let Them Eat Cake

Anyone else seen Let Them Eat Cake? I was surprised to find no posts in their forum for that. I know there's only 6 episodes, but hey it was funny! So I made a few posts.

It's a French and Saunders miniseries thing, set in Versailles, france, during the times of Marie Antoinette. It's really funny.
No one else heard of it?

Don't Drop the Wood! It's part of my name!

Scully: Then we believe the same thing.
Mulder: Maybe there's hope.

oh that's horrible! I managed to borrow it from Blockbusters!
It is very good. It has Dawn as a servant, Jennifer as a noblewoman, and there's this guy, I forget his name right now, who is supposed to just be doing Jenn's character's clothes and wigs, but he ends up doing heaps more.

Dawn: "Oh, now your wigs gone in your wee."

Let Them Eat Cake was bloody AWFUL. Not content with stealing the idea for Girls On Top from The Young Ones, French and Saunders thought they could get away doing a rip-off of Blackadder for LTEC. One episode even steals a Young Ones plot about being pregnant but actually having chronic wind instead. The show was both a critcal and ratings flop and was never never recommisioned, and it's easy to see how a piece of crap like this with wildly unfunny overracting, bad script and stupid wigs and make-up leads to the abysmal Jam And Jerusalem. (Dawn french even does the same unfunny West Country accent in this terrible show as she did in LTEC! Has the woman no shame????)
