Guy and Harriet

Very mysterious! At the beginning of the series they had been married only a year or so? For a couple newly wed they certainly didn't act it. In later episodes Harriet was seen many times with young soldiers who obviously liked her, and possibly the feeling was returned. Guy seemed more wrapped up in his work. And Harriet, well, I guess she found attention where she could. The acting was superb by all!

I especially liked the "Prince" and the character kind of grew on me, because at first I didn't like him at all.

Actually in the book (and it's certainly alluded to in the TV adaptation), Guy and Harriet had been married only weeks before, after a brief romance/courtship in London.

That is Guy's character. He is one of those people who compartmentalizes his feelings. He loves Harriet, but he is distracted when he is in another "box" and forgets about her. It's very sad for her. I tear up at the scene when she is talking to the bear in the zoo. I know how that feels.

Beauty is truth, truth beauty.
