Serious Question, Please Help !!

This will sound pretty sad or pretty cool, depending on the average age here on this forum but my wife just bought me the three volumes of ducktales for my 26th birthday. I loved this show as a kid and still have a soft spot for them and they will be great for when I have kids of my own. Anyways, I noticed the episodes aren't in order. First off all why? And second, is every episode on these three volumes or are there more dvd's expected? Oh yeah, last question is where is the first episode at? Thanks for any help!!

There are 25 episodes left not on DVD. I hope they'll be released this November.

Here is the correct answers to your questions-

The DVDs that have been released contain the entire first season and the two five part episodes of the second season. There are still episodes remaining of the second season along with that special Ducktales Treasure of the lost lamp movie to be put on DVD too.

The way the episodes are put on the DVDs are the order they were made in the studio. That is why the five part Pilot Episode of the Treasure of the Golden Suns is on the second disk set instead of the first. I do hope those people at Disney will release the remaining episodes so we can see more of Gizmoduck and Bubba the cave Duck.

I can tell you this Johnptfunk I am 27 and I watch this old show on DVD because most of my cousins have children and if they ever bring them around me I have a good show for those young ones to watch instead of the garbage that is on 90 percent of the tv stations now.

Plus it is not everyday you find an old duck that can swim in money or a pilot duck that can survive every crash he has.

Put well.

I am actually concerned about the youth because they are still interested in TV shows and cartoons like I was at their age, but the stuff that's being presented to them, I mean blech! And it's not just a matter of opinion as if to say 'my stuff is better' - my stuff, i.e. Ducktales, Is better. It is better, objectively. I have seen plenty of good stuff that wasn't 'my stuff' and I give it 'props' and therefore am truly concerned about the hogwash the younguns today have to put up with - another problem arises when their minds being to eventually think of this soot as good, just too bad.

profprimbud,

I have to say that I have been doing research over the last 7 years and i have found out that if today's children were to grow up watching what their Parents and Grandparents grew up with of cartoons made from 1930 to premiering in 1987 they will be watching shows that are safe. The only cartoons i find bad that were made from 1988 to 1993 that are not fit for children are those Simpsons and that Bevis and butt head. Then from 1993 when those power rangers got introduced here in the USA and the tv station tried to pass them off as a general audience show but the violence was not fit for such a low raiting of violence and that is when the bad tv shows got started. I have noticed that since 1993 the tv shows have been going down hill worse and worse each year. There is only like 10 cartoons I have found since 1993 that I would let a child who is under 13 watch. Most of those shows are Disney shows.

One thing i have even been doing is some petitions to try to get some shows either brought back on tv or released on dvd and so far two of my petitions have worked. Those two petitions that have worked are for the 1983 He-Man, 1985 She-Ra and 1987 Bravestarr cartoons because those shows have been fully released on DVD now. What is good about those three shows is at the end of each episode there is a special advice scene that teaches right from wrong based on the events of the episode. One episode on the Bravestarr show teaches children to stay away from Drugs and two others teach kids to stay away from guns. Tell me what you think of that.

Sounds good.

I think what makes my opinion that it was better is the validity. If I were to take the stance of an '80s kid, I could still look at something older like The Flintstones or Tom & Jerry and applaud them for being great. I can do this because I had some great stuff from my 1980s - however, if I take the stance of a 2000s kid, there's no basis for any comment downplaying those '80s shows.

Hmmmmmmm...............

Before I give my 2 cents on this subject, you Ducktales fans will be pleased to hear that this show is no longer a lesser favorite, it is now in my top 10. I still prefer Talespin & Gummi Bears, & maybe even Rescue Rangers, but DT is still a classic.

I was born in 1989, but I did happen grow up with the best 80s cartoons like Ducktales, the original Transformers, Thundercats, Gummi Bears, Voltron, Macron 1(remember that?), Danger Mouse, Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers & the Super Mario Bros. cartoons, as well as many from the 90s; and although the 90s were when cartoons started going downhill, for every horrible one a great one (in my eyes) would come out, one that I would let kids under 13 watch, since I grew up with them & turned out just fine. I think it began with Ren & Stimpy, the single most sickest cartoon I have ever seen. Although I watched it alot as a kid, by the age of 10 I started to hate it & junk like Power Rangers. And I never liked stuff like Spongebob Squarepants & Ed, Edd & Eddy even when they came out. By the year of 2000, even as an 11-year old I thought TV had jumped the shark. Anyway, I can easily name 10 great non-Disney cartoons post-1993 that I look forward to sharing with my children someday. BTW, if you disapprove of these, please state why.

1.Beast Wars/Beast Machines - My favorite Transformers series & my favorite cartoon series ever.

2.Sailor Moon - The best anime series ever.

3.War Planets - Aside from BW/BM, the best CGI show ever.

4.Reboot - I don't like it as much as the average fan does, but it's still a favorite of mine.

5.Angry Beavers - I thought it was hilarious, & the best Nicktoon.

6.Sonic Underground - My 2nd favorite Sonic series.

7.Ronin Warriors - One of the few great anime series

8.Road Rovers - My favorite Warner Bros. TV show.

9.Extreme Dinosaurs - A lesser favorite, but still great.

10.Kablam! - My 2nd favorite Nicktoon.

For the 1st 4, I loved them as a kid because they were dark. Even as a kid, I liked dark stuff. My favorite Sonic was always the serious one, & the Transformers series(Original & Beast Wars/Machines) & Sailor Moon were my 2 favorite cartoons because they weren't all rainbows & lollipops. The others, at worst, weren't that bad. Anyway, I grew up with the best & the worst but still turned out okay, although I will be very careful about what my kids watch.

Anyway, that's my opinion. I completely respect yours, but I have my own views on this subject.
