Volume 4 release date?

Anyone has the inside scoop?
It's already September and there has been no announcement...

reply

I hate to say it, fellow fans. But I think Disney may have quit on the Disney Afternoon DVD sets entirely. That means no more Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Talespin, Gummi Bears, etc. News should have broken by now about any planned DVD releases for this year, long before the actual press release. Man, this sucks! I hate it when companies just abandon DVD releases.

reply

nah last year they waited until like october before announcing the release date.

so don't quit now.

i don't understand why disney would not release it. its still a "silver" mine.

reply

October is when the official press releases are released, but websites such as tvshowsondvd.com usually break the news at least a month in advance. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be proven wrong about this.

reply

Volume 4 with the last quart of episodes of DuckTales may never get release but you could download them from the iTunes Store.

reply

Does it really matter you jerk off? I mean "Treasure of the Golden Suns" is out, just watch that....it's the only thing that matters in terms of DuckTales!

thats where you are wrong.

reply

Since Disney has cancelled releasing shows like Gargoyles and Boy Meets World to DVD because of low sales, I'm not surprised if those idiot studio execs agreed "Eh, didn't sell so well. Let's give up on it. Who knows if there's fans for this dumb old show anyway?"
They better get around to finishing this, along with Darkwing Duck and The Tick, or else... REVENGE!

There's so much pressure to like monkeys.

reply

I'm sorry what did you just type? Because if my phonetics are serving me correctly I think you just said that I was "wrong". Well let me tell you something you assfisherman I am NEVER wrong when talking about the GREATEST 5 PART STORY ARC IN THE HISTORY OF MODERN TELEVISION. I hope you like chocking down cack because you just woke the giant.

you are a fool to believe that treasures is the only thing great about this series. noob.

reply

Am I a fool? Am I really? Was General Robert E. Lee a fool when he freed all the slaves from his fathers plantation? Was Bernie Taupin a fool when he wrote the words to "Your Song"? Was Hannibal a fool when he and the Carthaginian army invaded Italy and defeated the Roman Army? Was Muhammad a fool when he pretended to be a prophet of God and became a warlord and took over the city that never accepted him? None of them were, and neither am I! Why don't you just nut up and give me your address and I will come and kick your ass.

Disney appears to be taken a break from their Cartoon TV shows on DVD for now, we would have already heard about new sets being released this year.

reply

they need to plan a full release of the entire series. Re-scan the original negatives and release them in HD on bluray. It'd still be in 4:3 but look really good.

The dvd release was half assed, hate to say it, but Ducktales deserves much better treatment.

reply

The only thing that makes sense is for them to release "Treasure of the Golden Suns" on bluray. Everything else in its wake has been meaningless and tired.

Call Walt Disney Home Entertainment at 1-800-723-4763 to keep showing more demand and interest to release DuckTales Volume 4 on DVD and ask them to release DuckTales Volume 4 on DVD.

reply

At this point, nobody really knows when it's going to come out. I'm pretty disappointed at the lack of information regarding this, but I wouldn't write off the possibility of the remaining episodes of this series (or RESCUE RANGERS, GUMMI BEARS, DWDuck, etc.) still debuting on DVD, if not this year than probably the next.

Then again, it is EXTREMELY impossible to predict what Disney is up to this days.

Not only Disney studio company but also many other American video companies always pull a stuff like this. Many popular cartoon DVDs are suffering the same fate, only the last season or volume got left off, and the reason always is, according to them, it's low sales. I wonder if the second to last season always gets the lowest sales in the market or they just keep making excuses for not wanting to clean up their messes?

reply

I've only seen volumes 1 and 2. I'm waiting for volume 3 from NetFlx. When does Bubba come in? They go back in time to lay claim on a diamond mine, and the diamond mine turns out to be Bubba's cave. He comes forward in time to save them. That was the coolest story arc in the whole show. I loved Bubba, he was hilarious.

I really hope they are still going to release this last volume.
Otherwise I'm stuck with an incomplete serie, and I really like this one. So I really want to get it complete.
PLEASE Disney go on with releasing this, you are probably or last hope with this serie, so don't leave us with an incomplete serie.

reply

Disney does this ALL THE TIME! Gargoyles, Boy Meets World, Rescue Rangers, etc. they have no clue how to release TV shows on DVD at all!

Introduce them to Punchy McGee and Fisty O'Flannagin!

reply

Alright, it's been over three years now, and I'm still waiting.

I don't want to think they won't release the last volume at all, but I fear that's the case.

Come on, I really want to see the last episodes. DuckTales is an awesome show.

reply

They may get around to releasing it eventually. Sometimes they release them annually, other times they wait a few years in between releases. Maybe they wanted to stop and see if the DVD sets that are currently available will sell well enough to warrant more. So go out and buy DuckTales Volumes 1-3 and (if you're a fan) DarkWing Duck, TaleSpin, Chip'N Dale Rescue Rangers. The only way you'll see more is to embrace what is already here.

reply

Last week I wrote an email to Disney asking if and when they were going to release the rest of Ducktales to DVD. I did receive a response, unfortunatly I was told that Disney has no plans at this time to release any additional volumes of Ducktales to DVD.

In light of this, I went on the search for a way to get the rest of the episodes, and did find a torrent file with all the episodes without commercials if you do a search on google for "Ducktales Torrent" Its a 21 GB download which even with 6mb a second took 18 hrs but it was soooo worth it.

I hope this helps fans like me, get what Disney won't let us pay for.

reply

I don't get why they can't at least put them out on their Disney Movie Club, they've released all kinds of garbage on there (as well as the DuckTales movie, which is frequently sold out).

reply

So, good news. The final volume of TaleSpin and DuckTales:The Movie are now available on DVD at stores. Gargoyles Season 2 Volume 2 is now available as an exclusive at Wal-Mart (in fact TaleSpin and DuckTales The Movie were released in this fashion .First a small an "exclusive" club release, a year later a small "stealth release" at Wal-Mart then a wide release a few months later.)

What does this mean? Simply put...we may see the final volumes of Ducktales and the like on DVD sooner rather then later. Fingers crossed!

reply

It doesn't mean anything. All of these releases were available for a long time through Disney Movie Club as exclusives (DT the movie has been available for YEARS through them, that's why I joined with them just to get that movie). All they are doing is making titles that have been available for years for wider release. Goof Troop Volume 1 & 2 have been released as well, but again those were available through DMC. In a few years I'm sure we will see the first 2 seasons of Kim Possible and Weekenders as well. Unless DMC makes the last volumes of DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, etc. available I really doubt we will ever see them.

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

reply

Does anyone know which are the masters lost forever? Because we will never get digitial versions of them ever.

reply

it's a Disney Movie club exclusive and I don't know if you can still get it there now.
you can buy The Ducktales movie cheaply now it use to be an exclusive
