I wish he would've stayed, he and Kim were great together. I definitely prefer him to the rest of her love interests, I wanted them to end up together.

He was horrible. After they got rid of Marisa Tomei and really made the cast entirely black, it was too late to try and add a white guy. I think it would have been nice if Maggie had stayed but they really wanted to go in a different direction with the show and the target demo.

In the beginning the show started out diverse in character in the 3rd season it was all black cast.

I thought he was a great character and Andrew Lowery played it well enough but I do understand probably why they got rid of him. The show didnt need its own 'Token'. Unless they were willing to let Ron get into some kind of relationship with the white chick at the car dealership in that one weird episode, there wasnt much reason to keep Matthew around and keep giving him excuses to "fit" in ("I CAN'T HEAR YOU"rap Remix).

When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

I was a freshman at Howard the night Kim and Matthew first kissed and my dorm erupted in a near riot when it happened. Unfortunately, a white buddy of mine showed up that night to hang out with me and got punched in the face for having the bad timing to be there on that night. The fool that punched him later apologized to me.

I liked Freddie's cousin Matthew too. Even if he and Kim didn't work out, he and Freddie made a fun quirky duo.

An unnamed male "A Different World" cast member wasn't happy with the story line. This cast member didn't think that Kim/Matthew wasn't appropiate on a show about a black college. I personally thought it was Darryl Bell but I don't know to this day.
