Just another paean of love for this show!

My heart hurts with the desire to have this show back in my life. It holds a special place in my heart for many reasons, Ms. Brown, the wondrousness that is David Strathairn, etc. But also the fact that Molly's dad died on the show just a week or so after my dad died, and I still remember watching the part where she dazedly stumbled out and hailed a taxi. It echoed my own feeling of surreality surrounding my dad's sudden death.

I had the honor of meeting Allyn Ann McClery and George Gaines in a record store in Santa Barbara, where I was working, and they were the nicest, sweetest people. They were so happy to hear how much I loved the series. The show was still on the air then, though I believe they weren't on it anymore.

I hope they can sort out the music rights at some point. This show seriously needs to be released. I have only one ep of it on VHS, the episode where she sings When Sunny Gets Blue. No one I've ever heard sings it as beautifully or poignantly as she did. I wish I had some of the Moss episodes. Especially the one where he tells the Ingrid Bergman story. Such an amazing moment of television!

yeah, this was such a great show... don't know why I started thinking of it this weekend.

Moss telling the story of how, as a child, he had watched Ingrid Bergman taking a bath is probably my favorite scene on any episode of the show.

This was probably my all-time favorite TV show. I'm on the waiting list at Amazon for the DVDs.
