Does anyone remember this show?

I was only four when it aired, but I remember loving it! It was one of my favorites; right up there with ALF and Cheers. I was just wondering if anyone else remembered, or enjoyed it. I'd love to hear thoughts on the subject.

I still have the tape my parents taped for me when it was on. I believe there are eight episodes on it. It's a great show, and I wish someone would start reruns so that I could see the rest. Maybe TRIO could do The Charmings on their "Brillant, but Cancelled" series.

It was good corny fun! I think it was on Saturday mornings for a while, right?

reply

Yes, I remember this show pretty well. I was about 11 or 12 when it aired. I remember being very disappointed when it got cancelled. I thought it was a rather witty show, especially the wry character of the evil mother-in-law.

I would really like to see the episodes that did not get aired in my area at the time. I think I only saw 1 season or about 8 episodes.

I remember this show! It use to be my favorite! I remember an episode where I think the two boys were accidentally turned into mannequins? The show made me a fan of Brandon Call and Paul Winfield. Looking back on it, for being a mid-80s sitcom it was really imaginative! It SHOULD have run longer. I didn't realize the guy playin the dwarf was the same guy from Legend! (He was born & raised about 25 miles from where I am right now. =P) I rank it up there with The Greatest American Hero and V: The Series as one of the 80s greatest fantasy-based tv shows.

I remember this show, and I also remember that it got less funny when they switched actresses. Still, would be nice to have this one on DVD.

I don't remember much, but I kinda thought the prince was handsome & that the show was so magical when I was 9. The mirror would have wisecracks for the prince & the dwarfs were funny. I just remember the opening credits with all the smoke when they arrived in present day & the music that went with it. The definetley need to re-run those episodes.

I was 7 when this show aired, and let me tell you I was in EIGHTH HEAVEN when the ABC commericals would tease us with the new fall lineup and this one was the ultimate fantasy rush! But I never got to see the first ep b/c my dad put me on punishment (for something that neither I or my mother cannot remember- he was obsessed w/me not watching TV b/c it distracted me from homework, BTW I have always been an honors student... but he never cared). This would be great on DVD since all the tape traders that have this only have it from the second season on. Anybody can hook me up?

P.S. Anbody remember what a skank Cinderella (Cindy) was when she turned up at the Charmings' doorstep? She came traipsing down the steps in her glass slippers, Daisy Dukes, and a pink tank just to flash her boobs at Eric!

It was shown on children's TV in the UK about fourteen years ago, and I watched it with my oldest son and loved it. I thought it was absolutely hilarious. I recorded about seven episodes on tape which I still have, I wish I'd recorded them all. I still think it's a very funny show. What a pity it was cancelled so early on, I wish they'd made more of them.

Actually I have been trying to figure out the name of this show for quite some time. I described it to my Mom and she said that there wasn't such a show that I watched when I was little. AHA! Finally found it!

reply

Apparently my mom said we used to watch it all the time. It was so funny and we loved. To be honest, I can't remember thing one about it, except that now Prince Charming is the dad on the show Reba or soemthing.

I wish I could remember this show better, but I've drank since then.

I was contemplating Socrates when he said, "I drank what?"

This show has been haunting my memory for some time and I just now figured out what it was called. I don't remember much about it, but I do vaguely remember the Cinderella episode. I know I liked the show too... I hope they do run reruns of it sometime.

Me too! I've been trying to remember the name of this show for a long time now. I'm glad I found it! I remember that I loved this show when I was little (I was about 5-6 years old when it was being aired). I'm sure we still have the old beta tapes from when my mom used to tape it for me.

I was 9 was this show aired. I remember absolutley loving it! Prince Eric was my first crush! I remember the Cinderella episode, but the one that sticks out in my mind the most is the episode where the next door neighbor shows Eric the pornographic magazine. Then the Evil Queen cast a spell so that the centerfold materializes in front of Eric. But only he can see her! I also remember the Halloween episode where the oldest son has a crush on a girl. The Evil Queen, showing that she has some affection for her step-grandson, poisions that apple that the girl gets from the apple bob. This gives him the opportunity to revive her with a kiss. I don't really remember any other episodes. I would really love it if this show was released on DVD!

Cinderella was funny, but does anyone remember the episode when they revealed the witches' real name [i.e Lillian Lipschitz] I think it was also the episode where she cast a spell and Luther and the prince switched personalities. That was my favorite. We have it on tape somewhere. Or how about the time the prince became a successful but sleezy salesman...........

I'm so happy to see other fans of this show! I remember watching it on UK tv (can't remember what time or channel it was on, though) when I was about 7 and I loved it. For YEARS and years I tried to remember what the show was and it was only a couple of years ago I found out. This and "Out Of This World" (which I also couldn't remember what it was until about five years ago) wer emy very favourite shows ever at that time, I thought they were the best ever. LOL. I'm lucky and managed to tape loads of OOTW episodes when Trouble showed it a few years back...for some reason they didn't air season four, eps, though, which annoyed me because I wanted to see the finale. Anyway, they really need to bring the Charmings back to UK tv in some form, or at least release it on DVD properly. This was a classic show, loved the Mirror, and the whole fairy tale fantasy thing. It was brilliant.

I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way.

reply

Yeah, I remember it. I was like 18. It was pretty good. Paul Winfield was hilarious at the mirror.

reply

I remember it... I loved Lillian and the Mirror.
