The 1987-88 syndicated series Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future is one of those short-lived shows (just 22 regular episodes!) which fans have often longed for on DVD. Now it appears that this wish will be granted! At the show's official Facebook page, there has been a lot of activity lately...including numerous new pictures that talk about documentaries being recorded and so forth. But this picture, posted there last Friday, shows shelves of source material and is captioned this way:
Tracking down and cataloging all the original elements for Captain Power episodes in preparation for upcoming DVD release of the complete series.
Wow! That seems to tell the tale, all right: Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future - The Complete Series is in the works for DVD! And it's probably safe to assume that the documentaries being recorded are for Bonus Material on this set. However, we don't see any information about which studio is putting it out, or when to expect it, or any other details.
