This show and I am serious...

Could really be almost straight up redone with a few upgraded effects and more clear resolution. Aside from the crappy resolution and buggy CGI at times, it is really a story and acting that stands the test of time. Its dark theme would go well with todays series. It was scary in a non-cheesy way and Soaron/Blasterr was really formidable foes with great screen presence and all 6 main "heroes" acted very well, without constantly running into 80s cliches.

Just wanted to get that off my chest. I hope this series come back, if pitched to something like HBO it could be a real hit. A bit sci-fi walking dead'ish.

It was a childhood favorite of mine that I hadn't watched in nearly 30 years until my friend and I reviewed it on our blog last year. It has a few issues, as you said, but what surprised me the most was just how dark it was--relatively speaking. This aired on Saturday mornings in 1987 and dealt with some pretty heady themes (death, torture, addiction).

Viewed through that lens it's a far more revolutionary show than its give credit for. Not to mention its interactive gimmick and use of fully CGI creatures. It's a trailblazer that doesn't get its due.

I haven't watched it since 1988 either. I kind of avoid childhood shows because I am often disappointed and like to remember them as they were.

George Orwell was an optimist.
